United Way of Skagit County wishes to thank Marathon Petroleum Anacortes Refinery, event sponsors, the incredible Marathon volunteers and over 600 event attendees for coming out last Saturday, June 22 in support of C.H.O.W.
C.H.O.W. is Cutting Hunger On Weekends, a coalition of United Way, the Helping Hands Food Bank, and Skagit Publishing which feeds hungry children every weekend in Skagit County. At the event, United Way of Skagit County Past-President, Deb Davis Bundy said “The $25,000 raised on Saturday provides food for over 500 Skagit children every weekend.” She continued “The money raised here today will do much to help families and children succeed.”
This year’s March Point Run included a Kids’ Run, 5k, 10k and a half marathon (chip timed & USATF certified), awards for all ages, good food, live music, lots of give-a-ways and The Kids Zone featuring Frankie the Fire Engine.
We also want to thank local businesses, who contributed over $1,000 in gift certificates, the Children’s Museum for bringing Frankie and event sponsors who raised over $12,000 for the C.H.O.W. program.
All proceeds from the March Point Run go directly to the C.H.O.W. program https://unitedwayskagit.org/chow/.
No child should go hungry. Let’s make a difference together.
